Oftentimes, when faced with obstacles, it forces you to approach your design in a completely different manner than you would if no obstacles were present. So when I was approached by the television production company, Red Arrow Industries, to turn a run down shipping container and a vintage bison shed on a Texas farm into a single inhabitable space for their tv series, I knew it was going to push my design ability to it’s limit. From corregated ceilings, to grass flooring, to a thin metal shell with no insulation, we were faced with many design challenges to overcome in order to give the owners a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and living space with a pleasing design aesthetic. Add in design influence coming from 3 hosts, a television network, homeowners, and a production company, and it took a sharp focus on design and elaborate communication skills to keep this build from looking disjointed making this one of the toughest projects of my career.
